We have an open floor plan - the living room, dining area, kitchen and deck are all on the west side of the cottage - and the west side is lined with windows. There are ocean views from Netarts Bay and Cape Lookup State Park to the south, ranging north towards Happy Camp and the Oceanside area. You can walk our fine sandy beach north to Oceanside for about 3 miles before you run into headlands.

The area features some excellent restaurants, lots of wildlife, state parks, and many other different types of activities. Seals nest on sandbars offshore from the cottages, Great Blue Heron fish in the waters off our beach, Pelicans sail in the sky, and in the summer wild roses and lilies bloom in the yards. The area is known for Dungeness crabbing, fresh clams and oysters, fishing and whale watching, and is part of the Three Capes Scenic Route. Netarts is a quiet, non-touristy village of a few hundred people. It's one of the closest beaches to Portland, Oregon (75 miles, or a 90 minute drive). There's a laundry and a small grocery store a short walk from the cottage. Major services are available 8 miles away in Tillamook.

There is a wood stove, and electric heat. Wood can be purchased at nearby stores.
