Copacabana Beach stretches for about 2 miles and is the epicenter of leisure and activity.  On a nice day you will see thousands of people herd on this famous strip of beach to play soccer, volleyball, swim, body surf and socialize.  From here you will really appreciate Carioca culture and why Brazilians are famed around the world as the most beautiful people.  The sidewalk lining the beach is designed with black and white stones which form the famous undulating mosaic of Copacabana sidewalks. 

Sugar Loaf Mountain " Pao de Acucar "  is located in Urca, it is about a 15 minute ride from Copacabana. You ride up in cable cars. There are paths to walk on and there is a restaurant on top.  The Christ Statue " Corcovado ", the statue is perched on a mountain top about 30 minutes drive from Copacabana.  You can take a taxi or tour guide to the site then take the train up.
